Paintings & Sculptures

These are a selection of my artworks from 2017 to 2019. I have been into mythology for as long as I can remember, being the Greek's my favorite. However I do research others like African Orixás, Easter Island folk tales as well as myths and legends from Brazil and India.

I feel like they are attempts to understand and explain amazing natural phenomenon and complex emotions from a humanised perspective. More than that, they are a romanticised way of communicating. Sort of reading life as a poem instead of a history book. I find this very special and I can relate with this logic wile creating my pieces. For me art happens by the way you make something and why you made it in the first place.

This mural was a private commission where I was asked to come up with a representation of balance. Acording to chinese mythology The Dragon and Phoenix have their own energies or forces that when bound together, are believed to be the perfect couple. This piece is 12m wide and 2m tall.
